Hi people, I've been playing with scout for a while but the thing that's pissing me off is my aim, i usually miss LOTS of shots at point blank range or when dueling with another scout.

I normally can get my KD ratio above one and sometimes 2 ou 3, I try not to die instead of kill and then die ( I usually rush when there's a medic and a patient and I know I can kill the medic)

but the thing is is that on arena mode or in 1x1 situations with another scout I alwways lose my aim really sux balls

I've watched countless demos in scout POVs and stuff

but I really don't know a way to improve my aim, I think I'll try installing unreal tournament GOTY and playing against some godlike bots lol

I'm gonna give you the advice uber helpful forum gotfrag gives.
Here's what you want to do. go back in time to around when quake1 came out..play that religiously until quake2 comes out, then play that religiously until quake3 comes out, THEN play that religiously until quake4 comes out, skip quake4 cause it sucks balls, and continue with quake3 until TF2 comes out, and bam! you're the next carnagejohnson.
otherwise, play tf2 religiously until you quit missing, playing other games to get good at a game that's currently available is probably silly. and by probably i mean definitely.
EDIT: I forgot i play scout so i can give useful advice. Don't move your mouse much to aim, have a low sensitivity, like move your mouse 6 feet to do a 360 low. put your cross hair at the general height you expect the person's body to be and then use your movement keys to line up the shot and do drive by bodyshots on them, learn what distance you can reasonably hit people at and try to maintain that distance or a little further way, then dive in shoot and dive back out.

Yeah, no way to do it other than practice. Playing with a lower sensitivity and a good mouse pad also helps stabilize your aim.

My advice would be to turn your sens up a bit from 3.6, to 5 or something, because i used to play with around your sens, and turning it up helped a bit but strafing/practice helps a lot too!

A good mouse also helps. Lowering your sens possibly so you dont over compensate. Scout is really all about twitch aim it's pretty easy to transition into it playing sniper alot but playing pyro transitioning into scout is probably another story.

numbers for sens aren't so useful, the only accurate measurement is how far you move your mouse to do a 360. most people say a good sensitivity is where the largest comfortable movement you can make is a 180(for classes that require precise aim.classes that do more spinning around like heavies and medics may vary, i dunno i don't play them much). there's a thread around here somewhere about setting your mouse up for developing good aim. Basically it boils down to turning off mouse acceleration in windows though, but that's pretty useful for developing consistent aim. If you have mouse acceleration on then making precise large movements, ie the kind of movements you have to make in close quarters combat is very difficult, so if you haven't turned it off that's your first step.

Use whatever sensitivity is comfortable. That's why it's there. I have a high sensitivity and I consider myself a decent scout.

Just practice with the right mindset. Don't attack people hoping to simply improve. Attack and think about what you're doing. Actually look at your crosshair and don't click until it's over your opponent.

If you have perfect aim but it takes you a second to line it up, that's good. Speed will come with experience. Worse is always clicking as fast as possible but missing a lot.
