New Kritzkrieg Healing Taunt: More useful addition than the razorback

I just noticed today that the kritzkrieg taunt now gives the medic ten additional health, and that is in addition to the self-healing that the medic does over time.  I am surprised that I haven't yet seen another medic use or talk about the new kritzkrieg taunt in-game; it is sort of like getting an inhalable mini-sandvich all our own (mmmmm tasty).  It seemed to me like the delay is around half of the delay with the sandvich (roughly 2 seconds).  So if you used the taunt twice in a row, you would have at least 25 more health 5 seconds later, and potentially 30 or 35 if it had been more than 5 or 10 seconds since you had last been injured.  That isn't as great as the sandvich, but you don't get locked into waiting for 4 seconds at a time.

I often use kritz on defense, and I can image that being on defense would increase the chances that I can find a safe place to drop back to and heal safely if necessary.  Few things bother me more than sucessfully killing a pyro only to die in a heap of flames right next to a health pack that I didn't quite make it to.  With the kritz, I can imagine myself finding a good hiding spot to taunt/heal to save my life in situations where I am unlikely to make it to a health pack.  There are also situations where a teammate steals a healthpack even though I am healing him, and this could be a great way to reduce my anger when that happens... just take a big hit & smile.  Another interesting tidbit is that it could be wiser to do a couple kritzkrieg taunts than run to a small health pack if the health is far away; the small packs heal a medic 30.75 health I believe (20.5% of 150).  That is around the amount of healing that a medic could do in 5 seconds with two taunts on average if you consider the medic's natural healing rates.  Thus, if a small health pack would take more than 5 seconds to get to, you may be better off with a couple taunts performed in a safe area (back against wall in an area with low enemy traffic and ideally, some friendlies nearby).

Another neat thing about the kritz taunt is that you can continue to heal a teammate while taunting.  So if I am in a safe position &  healing a teammate who is shooting rockets or whatever in a stationary position, I could use the down time to top off my health if necessary.  Otherwise, I might otherwise be tempted to leave the teammate while I go find health.  Of course, you wouldn't want to use the taunt where the chances of getting discovered while doing it were high, so battlefield awareness would help to dictate when and where to use it.  I think that this is a great and unheralded addition to the medic; I would rather have the healing taunt than a razorback any day of the week.  When you are a medic, your HP matters A LOT to your team, and using the new taunt wisely would surely add way more value to a team than a razorback would add to a sniper.  Anyone have any ideas about additional strategies or reasons why the taunt might not be a useful as I think it could be?

You make some great points, but as the #1 target that everyone is trying to kill, you can't stand still for just 10 HP :\

I've used it several times on pubs, just make sure you are in a low traffic area, and you will be fine.

No but it helps soften the incoming damage from the flamethrower. Unless you are really low you can probably save yourself by using a few taunts just by deadening the dps.
