New Sapper Replacement Idea

One thing people complain about the Spy is that he is too anti-engie, and a replacement for the sapper that could be used on anyclass would open up the spy to more potential (Chro)

Here's an Idea. Please note that it could have some tweaks, and is just one of my ideas

Some sort of bomb that can be attached to Buildings, or Enemies without dropping disguise.
Some sort of detonator (maybe a pen) could detonate the bomb(s)
The Bombs could disable the Sentries, though not actually damage them while attached

How exactly these bombs would work is up to discussion (if anyone is even interested)
Like, can you have multiple bombs out and should there be a limit? Should they be able to be knocked off of players in any way, only by Engie?
How much damage should they do?
Should there be a limited ammo supply?

Well, whatever. It's just an idea, some may think it's cool, others may think it would be unbalanced. Anyone think it's a decent idea?

sounds good if you could attach one without the engie being alerted, and then sap it from far away or whenever you liked. Another one that ive thought of is a sapper that doesnt hurt sentries, only disables, but takes maybe 3-4 wrench hits? this could be a bad or good thing for a spy, depending.

If you timed it right you could just shoot the sentry to death. Unless the engineer came after you first, which he would have too. Also this doesn't really make him not be anti-engy, he's just now anti-engy in a different way.

I like the bomb idea, but the blast radius shouldn't be to big it should have a timer and if you didn't push the pen to explode it in time it would auto go off, it would alert the engy, and you can only have one placed at a time, no ammo count. I think its a good idea, however we already have a lot of easy to spawn camp classes, and with spy you could pretty much spawn camp so long as the enemy team has tele entrances in front of them.

EDIT: you should be able to attach it to people too, and it only takes fifty health from anyone in its blast radius, and 25-50% health from sentry buildings.

well if you close enough to put a bomb on them why not just backstab them? bam instant death

How about sapping weapons. Harmless and only lasts like 3 seconds, but after stabbing the medic run out with the sapper and stop people from shooting you.

I dunno, quick thought.

Jesus no, the spy is not a ninja and will not have anything like it.  Give him another pistol or something, he needs a support weapon that helps him get away when theres no cloak left.

God yea I'd take the dual magnum anyday.

But THROWING KNIFES would be so cool. Imagine like on badlands just tossing one over mid cp at start and fucking hitting the medic in the eye and killing him DAMNIT now I have a mild sized boner just thinking of how awesome that would be brb.
