On paper, I thought for sure I would run around with the huntsman and jarate together, thinking that since the huntsman has brought me closer in, it would be more applicable to have the jarate at that range. I found after putting some hours into the huntsman though that, with its lob and necessity to lead so far for longer shots, that you can't rely on headshots as easily as the rifle. Because of that I end up almost exclusively using my SMG to finish off the last 20 to 30 hitpoints.

Conversely, I use the jarate every single time I use the rifle. my targets are generally too far away to finish them off with the SMG, and with the rifle jarate makes for a great panic button. Just soak em in piss and fire a round from the hip and suddenly it does some more threatening damage while you're retreating.

I was wondering what conclusions you guys had come to?

And if the word "Razorback" comes up in this thread I may think less of you.

The Razorback is great! Srsly!!

....Yeah, I'm not a very good liar...

But to be serious;

Unless you're on the frontline, and have the backup of your whole team, there is no reason to use the Jarate. I only use it to assist my team in taking down groups of enemies. When I'm by myself, the SMG is the only choice.

As for Rifle-vs-Bow, I find the bow to be much easier to hit with right up close, and does tons of damage in seconds (a bit too easy to do damage with, imo), but is useless at a distance. By the time the arrow arrives, the enemy already have had seconds to dodge it.

I use bow and jarate, but only because both of them are really fun. If I wanna play sensibly I'll do jarate and rifle. Not that I ever get to play sniper with so many noobs playing them.

I use Rifle and Jarate, haven't de-equipped Jarate since I got it. Works great in pubs and I've had great success in the few scrims I've played since I equipped it. Huntsman is good for when I'm not feeling too serious but don't want to be useless.

Jarate is a great psychological weapon, plus it reveals cloaked spies and puts out fires.

Won't use the SMG again.
