No Blood.

So here's my problem:

Ever since I bought TF2 a half-year ago, the only thing that happened when I gibbed someone, it flew away cogs and screws, and other random things. I thought it was supposed to be like that, but it wasn't, cause my friende got blood. And I wondered why. Now I don't know how to turn off the "silly" gibs, and get blood instead.

Also, a non-tf2 related question. My comp packed down a week ago, and now works again. But I lost every file and everything, so I wonder how I can get back the Soundtrack from Orange Box?

This happens with some versions of the game, such as the German one, where the local laws restrict "violent" content.

You lost all your files and yet the only thing you want back is the Orange Box sountrack.

@SandyBeach: I didn't have anything interesting, more than TF2, Portal, other games and that soundtrack ;<

@Cascade: I know that, but I didn't buy my Orange Box from German, I bought it in Sweden. The funny thing is, I got blood when I installed it on my laptop. Has it something to do with my Graphic Card?

The swedish version is most likely different that what you will find in the states and Canada (& UK) but you said you see blood when installing it elsewhere. There are settings that allow you to disable blood, try looking around for those, I couldn't direct you to them.

I tried that to many times, but I can't find any settings that would disable/enable it. I had no blood at the beginning, while both my buddys, who bought in Sweden, has it. And no, I think Swedish = USA, Canada, UK, only it's translated to Swedish, but what would I know.

Perhaps you're right. In some places law prohibits blood the blood and violence, I don't think they change the game anywhere else.

hmm, as for the Orange Box soundtrack, did you get it by purchasing the game Audiosurf?  if not, you can get access to all of the sound and music files by using GCFscape to open the gcf files for the various games.

@Sandybeach: I bought it in a game store. One of the friends bought it at the game store as well, but the third bought it from steam.

@josef: I got it when I installed OB.

Get it on steam next time.
