Opened my eyes to being a medic

I just happened to stumbleupon this site.. (its awesome by the way) and I just got to say that being a medic is awesome...

I'm somewhat new to TF2 (bought it after the pyro update) and starting off.. I was not a fan of the medic.. I had to be the guy who was in the middle of all the action causing mayhem (the pyro if you couldn't guess.. lol) but being an assault class, you learn quick the value of the medic. and I just couldn't understand that on almost all of the servers I went to, 9 out of 10 times the medic was extremely terrible.. you dont know how many times I've been a scout, being cremated right in front of a medic, spamming the medic button, for him to completely ignore me for a heavy that was walking around with his fists out going "Pow" You can see how upsetting that is. lol

But over this past weekend.. I just got to fed up with it and decided to start playing medic. and I've got to say this is the most fun Ive had in TF2. I mean I'm moving around like a scout, except I'm not really going anywhere.. lol. You have to be aware about everything around you.. and for the love a god, being a medic envokes you to be involved in some sort of teamwork(which we all know the team that works together is gonna beat the team that doesn't)

Now I'm certainly not the best medic..( I still catch myself following a guy who thinks he is invincible deep into enemy territory where the odds of me surviving are very slim)  but I am a competent medic, meaning I do the simple stuff, like making sure before the match starts, that all of my teammates are buffed, and healing any teammate I pass along the way, and of couse bonesawing spies.(even though thats not in my job description, but dont even get me started on a lot of these sorry pyro's.. lol)

I guess to wrap this up. I got to say that I see myself in the long run watching my medic hours pass my pyro hours. Because every team needs a competent medic (Just today I actually got complemented by people from the other team, wishing that their medics were as active as I was, and even made a steam friend out of it.. lol).

I've never played on yall's server before, but I want to try to, even though I'll probably pale in comparison to others on it.. any server that has people playing like a team, is a server that I want to play on...

Carnefice, you are very much welcome on our servers, as is any even half-way competent Medic.

Yeah same here, but I do have to admit it does get a bit boring that you're always staying behind and soaking up points that your teammates get, which I think is a bit unfair and easy for you to score high. But whatever.

There's a common saying that goes, there's never too many medics on a team.

I find a lot more fun in pugs over pubs. It's a lot more fast paced and you generally know who's worth ubering and who's not. I got to play it for the first time via fatkid in a pug the other day, was a lot of fun.

Meh, what I hate sometimes is when I'm playing with a bunch of other medics in a public server. Because I know my role in the team will be diminished and it's hard to find a person that isn't already overhealed.

Then again, it's nice to call for a fellow medic to heal you back up.

Hey welcome to tf2f buddy, and you are definetly right, same exact thing happened to me, i was actually origanlly a demo, and i quickly realized how much a medic was needed, well i'll play you one of these days, and aagain welcome =D

Like, in football, how the outcome of a game is usually dictated by the amount of turnovers a team has... the outcome of a round of TF2 is usually dictated by the amount of steady, competent medics.

Use that Uber!  And if some schmuck decides to run into the depths of hell... don't let that player take you with him.  Do what I do: Cut the lifeline, and let him learn to respect his medic.  I literally heard a female player from TF2F tell someone that if they don't protect her, she doesn't protect them.
