Placebo effect

Single worst achievement, and probably will be the worst out of every class.  If they top it, they will have destroyed the game.

I've spent the last few hours trying to get it.  Achievement servers are apparently buggy and wouldn't work.  In real servers, it just doesn't happen ever.

Seriously?  A medic is supposed to charge up an uber, then go on a rampage killing things without using the uber.  Assists don't even work, you actually have to kill the enemies.  If somebody else touches them, that is an assist and won't count.

Does anybody think this is actually a good idea?  WTF is valve thinking?

I think the term "achievements" is a misnomer.

I think that if Valve had called them, "Interesting things that sometimes happen when you're playing medic", that would be more accurate.

I know that, sometimes, I've got an uber ready but it's not the right time to hit it. Sometimes I'm attacked during that time, and sometimes I kill my attacker. It happens rarely - but, does happen sometimes. Just like the heavy fisting one.

eww fisting ... anyways if you want it done you should just farm it. that way it goes quite quickly

I think the idea of "leveling up" by doing strange things instead of just racking up XP is a nice one, it's a good break from the usual grind, but as it's been said before this is an FPS not MMO.

Maybe the better word would be "Quests."

It would make more sense if it was assist a guy in five killings with an uber withheld. That'd be even closer to the spirit of a "placebo".

But I farmed it because its one of those that seems like you need to get by farming. Grab a friend and just do it.

I think a MMORPG+FPS could work if done right, just like probably any combination of genres.  The hard part is figuring out how to do it right

MMORPG+FPS = ... Hellgate London?
MMORPG+RTS = ... still working on how this is possible without an uberplayer totally conquering every opposing enemy.
