Plants vs. Zombies!

Anyone else download this cute little PopCap game? It's only $9.99 on Steam right now (50% off).

The short version is that it's a tower defense style game, where you use a variety of plants (each with their own distinct powers) to defend your yard (and your delicious brain, cowering in the house behind the yard) from a horde of slowly advancing zombies.

I've been working my way through the levels, though I have a long way to go. It starts out really easy, and you're sort of forced to work your way through a tutorial system of sorts. You start with only 2 kinds of plants, slowly gaining a new plant each level, until you have dozens to choose from. Eventually, you are forced to pick which plants are in your arsenal for each level.

Anyway, so far I totally love this game. It actually runs GREAT on my netbook, and it's one of the few games you can play well using the touchpad (thus making it perfect to play while just lounging on the couch). It starts out fairly underwhelming, but it is like every other PopCap crack - the next thing you know, hours have gone by, as I tell myself, "Well..... just ONE more level, I guess."

Hmm... at first I dismissed this as just some silly game, but hearing this, and knowing that PopCap has my kind of humor (Peggle Extreme anyone?) I might just give this a look. Thanks LK!

I've downloaded the demo (because I'd seen a couple people playing it) and I have to say it is a pretty addictive game.

For ten bucks, you can't really go wrong.

Warning....do not introduce your girlfriend to this game if you plan on using your computer anytime soon.   Awesome game and a lot of fun.  I would highly recommend this game.

The game is freakin insane!  I'm loving it!  I love games with over the top humorous graphics like this and it's more than a mindless romp as well.  Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone.
