Post-Patch Force FAN jumps.

Apparently some people over on the steam forums have discovered a special technique with the FAN to gain a lot of extra height with the FAN.

To do this, the scout must run forward and simultaneously jump, crouch, and shoot towards the ground at about a twenty-five degree angle in front of him.

Apparently the FAN converts the horizontal momentum into vertical momentum thus gaining some height.

I loved making myself take fall damage from jumping too high.

Wow, this is amazing. I'd like to see this kept in tf2, and I personally don't think its a glitch at all. Valve changed the FaN to give directional knockback, so it's logical that it would transfer momentum in this way, as do rockets. It adds so much more ease to the manouverability to the scout, and I might even consider the FaN over the scat now. I'm also not sure that it would be considered overpowered either, because with the FaN the scout can get to most of those places anyway, just from different directions. It's a pity that scripts will take the skill right out of this though. I've never been a fan of scripted jumps.

I hope they keep it, it should have something after they messed up horizontal jumping
