NEGATIVE. You're about to start a whole different conversation. Heavy is defensive whether he's defending the point/intel or the other players on his team. That being said all classes can be played offensively.
The pyro is the number one defense versus spies, I think most can agree on that but offensive pyros that know what they are doing are more valuable than flame spamming for spies. Spies can be taken care of with communication, letting the pyro do his job of delaying enemy attacks. Theres not really any other class that can take out a whole group of enemies or at least send them running back and breaking their cordination. Get up behind a medic thats about to uber rush out and either kill him or make him pop his uber way to early. You are most likely going to die for touching their medic but you help your team out in the bigger picture.
The bottom line is your decision to play defense or offense should be based on your skill with the class. Not saying that defense takes less skill BUT it is safer and you will probably do more for your team instead of going out and getting killed all the time.
