Pyro thoughts and demo

The other day I had a few games of arena playing solely as pyro where I was doing much better than usual, and simply picked this one(its arena, but there isnt too much sitting out) out as it was my best, and had a few wtf moments (and some fail, which is normal with me). With all the negative feedback on pyro lately about it being just W + Mouse 1 and the such, I just wanted to ask, how many pyros are out there that use the shotgun, a lot? If you watch the demo you will see I practically use it nearly as much as the flamethrower, for example lighting the player up, air blasting, then shooting them to death. This may just be because I play soldier a lot so am used to this, but was just wondering how many actually have a play style similar to this.

 Another interesting thing is I only have 30 hours as pyro, but can do well, just by my knowledge of the game and using common sense. I would say myself I am rather rubbish at pyro, as due to lag, and not much time played, I cannot airblast projectiles at all usually, and Setting players on fire is difficult at certain ranges. Again, if you watch the demo, you will see I just do basic things such as flank, and not bumrush players, and it works out extremely well, but these skills I have picked up from having lots of hours in the game generally, not as the pyro class, which is why I can understand people when they say pyro does not have as high a skill cap, although I still believe they are wrong.

Anyway, just wanted to know your thoughts on the pyro class in the way I play it, and the thoughts on the demo!

just pyro as if you were a scout really. the mouse + 1 style is not very good since the backburner nerf and arguably never has been since it never had air blast. an obvious exception been if you find a more or less undefended medic then just charge in for Allah.

I've noticed this with myself as well. I have roughly 31 hours as demo and yet I've been able to do fairly well even on the tf2f servers. Playing with the flaregun even helped my sniping.
