Is it just me, or is sprinting defenselessly across the battlefield to save a friendly player way more thrilling than getting a string of backstabs or headshots or crit rockets? Sort of disturbing.

I agree with you, Mercury.  Playing Medic, effectively, rushing around like crazy is more exhilarating than just about anything.

Is this the kind of post you were looking for?  Or did you want one word answers?

Yes.

The act of running across a battlefield is rather rare - I always seem to be in the general area where my team needs me, but in the rare cases when I make a house call, it is indeed a very exciting event.  You are running around looking at multiple vectors for incoming fire for you to avoid to get to your patient in need.  The WORST case scenario here outside of an all-out death is for the caller to be a barking enemy Spy, followed secondly by a teammate doesn't need health, but was just calibrating their 'E' key.

It is.

What a fickle class it is.

You gotta get really into it to understand.

I got a Medic avatar!  I'm at peak levels of into-it-ness!

How did Moe Syzlack from the Simpsons put it?  "Let's have a fun run....on his trachea!"  Imagine you have a horde of Scouts after you.  Run, Forrest, R...er....Medic, Run!  And hey, if you take down a couple mofos on your way to heal a patient, then more power to ya.

Well, they usually aren't spies because, seeing as they are probably surrounded by bad guys, they're going down guns blazing

And Scarface, you play sniper. You don't have freedom of speech.

Haha, I was just wondering if I'm the only person who really enjoys it. It's weird how healing can be as exciting as fighting. Shows how much thought Valve put into the game, I guess, making the classes really cater to diverse playing styles.

I like to heal, it makes me feel all warm inside knowing I'm saving teammates lives so they can end others.
