Red Ring of Death

It finally happened after almost 2 years going strong.

I'm sure someone else has had this happen to them and I'm kind of wondering what to do? I don't have the warranty or box or anything so I'm not sure I can get the free refurbish anymore. That would piss me off to no end.

call the 360's support, and they might ship you a box to send it in. it has a 3 year warranty from microsoft

This is odd. Quite a lot of people have gotten rrod today.

Were your 360 flashed? Could be a secret update that caused rrod.

Just happened to me for the second time last month, basically, they will cover you past your original warranty as long as it is a legitimate RROD hardware failure. I believe the coverage extends to 2 years after purchase, but it could even be 3. The best thing you can do right now is submit a repair ticket so they can send you a box which comes in a few days and even though they claim it will probably take a month to fix your RROD, it's usually less than a week.

Good luck, also, the X360 still rocks harder than the PS3, that is all!

Ps3 has no severe technical errors.  Xbox has lame games.

talked with xbox support today and all is well. just going to take a while to get it fixed. they're giving me a free month of xbox live though

and i'm no microsoft fanboy, but i'll take the 360 over the ps3 anyday.

Question: Are there signs to look out for when worrying about the rrod? Just wondering because my xbox has been acting weird recently. It freezes WAY TOO OFTEN but mostly only on Rock Band and NCAA Football 09. It will freeze occationally on TF2 when the game is loading. It has become a lot louder than normal and becomes deathly quiet when the game is about to freeze. Help?

The red rings of death you can temp fix by wrapping your xbox in towels and forcing it to shut down from overheating.
