Rocket jumps: ur tips and tricks here

Looking for ur tips and tricks when it comes to rocket jumping. u as good as this guy?

Indeed it does. I know it as air-control.

I've been playing for over a year and the main reason I almost never play soldier is because I such really hard at rocket jumping.

thank you! im just now at the point where im getting decent at soldier (i.e., owning random pubs and getting owned in {TF2F} servers haha) and i realized on my own that holding w is a bad habit that im still trying to break.

Learn to flick your camera around, aim down (not straight down, 45 roughly), and rocket jump all at once.

It's easily doable and is very very necessary for chasing down solo medics etc..

I get the same distance just by holding W

Then you're doing it wrong.
Once you can do rj_rckteer you're basically at the practical height of RJ utility.

Although rocket jump maps are a great way to practice you should try doing jumps that are practical... There are plenty of jumps on GPit that are absolutely necessary for Soldiers, such as onto the roof of B and C... The crates on Granary mid, the yards in Well... You should be so comfortable with rj'ing that you can use it to get yourself pretty much anywhere you need to be without a second thought.

Crouching before you rj will increase your distance dramatically (duh)

It's always better to shoot behind yourself as opposed to straight down for best distance and air control Not a complete 180 degree turn, more like 120~160. You can also jump at different angles this way.

EDIT: Wall jumps are also a must to know, they gets you the lowest elevation and the best speed
