SAT SPUG 9/6/2009

We're going back, way back, before time ITSELF

We'll be criting it up on the following maps

We'll be starting at 140 if possible. 200 at the latest.

• 5 minute strat time: As soon as every person from each team is in, one person from each server (which should hopefully be myself and lancer) will say over chat: 'Every person is in, we will now start the 5 minute strat time: during strat time, no killing is allowed. If you are caught killing once, you will be kicked as a warning. Kill again, and you will be effectively banned for the remainder of the PUG. Do you understand?' To which each team will say yes if they do understand (I'm hoping everyone can ). The timer will then be started. After the 5 minutes is up, each team will ready up, and the round will be played. This format will be applied to both rounds. If Lancer or myself are not in both servers, I will go to the server that does not have one of us and say the message, and start the timer. The captains should steam me beforehand if this happens so I can alert you when the time is up.  

• The new 8v8 format: Since we have had many people join us for the SPUGs, it has been a problem to get a decent format (like last weeks 10v10). I think 8v8 is a good number for the SPUGs, as does Lancer. So to resolve this issue of people getting here but being turned away because there was too many people, and to not have to resort to 6 teams, we've hopefully come up with a solution that will give everyone a chance to at least play one map, so here it goes:  If more than 32 people show up, the picks will go as normal, and everyone will get picked. After you have picked 7 people, the rest of your picks are sub picks. What these sub picks are for is A.) If someone on your team has to leave or has connection issues, and B.) to sub in for people that want to voluntarily give up playing one map. These sub picks don't have to just play the second map, if someone wants to give up playing the first map, then the sub can come in. Any subs that don't get to play in the first map will get to play in the second map. I say voluntarily give up because I would hope that some people from each team will kindly give up playing in both maps so that everyone on their team gets a chance to play.

Bump for capts and reminder

These TFC maps are kind of cool, I was exploring them earlier today; can't wait to play 'em.  If you need me, I can give captaining a shot since I'm 90% sure I'll be here on saturday, but if you're worried about team balance I might not make a good captain since my team wouldn't have a soldier or demo right off the bat.
