Thanks for all the input everyone. I'll be sure to try to figure out all the bugs or what not.

The program uses dxdiag and systeminfo (both built in with windows) to find and analyze your system information. If it reads it incorrectly, its either that my strings are fcked up or one of the aformentioned programs is getting the data incorrectly. It will only read the amount of RAM the OS has access to... so if you're running 32-bit XP with 4GB of RAM, its only going to spit out ~3GB.

List of things to do:

- Remove all the "File 1" lines from the hotfixes

- Improve file output / copy paste

- Add diagnostic troubleshooting at the end

oofy, could you post the SDT log? SDT shouldnt tell you there is an error unless there actually is a directx error.

I'll add a notice to the main page to say that you need to run as Admin (as you do with 99.99% of things in Vista if you have UAC enabled)

first, two suggestions:
1. can we have a progress bar when its running dxdiag and whatnot? i know jack about programing so i dont know how much of a pain this is but even if each step just added 25% or something, I like that. progress bars just remind me that its working, which is why i dont use the vista defrag tool. i dont care how accurate it is, i just want it to move occasionally.
2. a back button would be nice, in case i want the log after i find out theres a problem

i updated my directx using the provided link but i still get the error. and apparantly they dont make drivers for my soundcard anymore so that may be why i get an error.

Yeah, you're liekly using outdated or beta drivers. SDT should be reporting that as an error.

I'll make the error page more clear (saying it MAY indicate an error or you are using beta/outdated drivers, etc) and add back buttons in future versions.

As for a progress bar I suppose I could make a basic one (that scrolls or something), but it wont be accurate in the least bit. I'll consiter it after I fix all the other bugs first.

Also: did it not report a network card? Or did you just forget to copy it all?
