SPUG Sub Rulesfficeffice" />>>

> >

Now with the SPUG becoming very popular the need for subs has come about, as lets face it now one want a 11 V 11. However over the past few weeks I and another of player have had some minor problems with this.

Now correct me if I’m wrong but I thought the idea of subs was to fill the teams up so no player was un-teamed then after map 1, the subs would swap over to replace other team members.  Now I have no problem with this idea as on the few occasions people have graciously swapped over and there has been no problems.

> >

However my main concern is players being left out of teams all together, For example I turned up an hour and a half early for the SPUG today only for me and several other players not to be picked and sent into the SUB channel with the unlikely chance of getting a game at all (as the only purpose is to have someone to ask quickly to join in if one of your team has technical difficulties)

> >

Now to them main point of this post it just seems highly unfair that players who are know for being good at the game to just appear 5 minutes before the team picking and know they will get picked and lesser know players are then forced just to politely hope that that someone will time out.

I propose that the rules be changed to accommodate this.

E.G

-Have a player limit on the SPUG channel to only a maximum of 36 players can join (this means 8V8 with one sub.) Then any one who turns up later than this my join the SUB channel in case.

- This will I believe will solve the problem of people not getting a game who have made the decision to turn up very early for the SPUG only to be turned away. As should you get into the channel, you will play at least one game.

Thanks for your time

I totally agree with this. It's not fair that the people who get to play are the 32 most skilled (or best known, anyway) players, not the 32 first to arrive.

Definitely agree. The SPUG's are for those who enjoy organized play, and a good opportunity for those not in clans to get a small taste of more or less, relaxed competitive play. Those who are clanned do get more opportunities to do so, and I completely support the more laid back pubbers getting a chance to play. hey, you get better by playing the game anyway

It was my first time playing on the PC on Friday but I showed up for the Friday and Saturday SPUG's at about 11:30 and I got to play in both of them.

Yeah, I totally agree with you soul. When people who come in long before the spug starts and are told they have to sub out for someone who randomly appeared, it's kind of a kick in the nuts. i think capping the channel is a very good idea.......

The point is this. The first people here should be first cut. They shouldn't have to be chosen over someone who is promised a spot based on skill. That idea works in a league match/scrim where you want to put you're best guys out there that are available.

However, the spugs are not that sort of case. It shouldn't be happening. period.
I again apoligize for not being there. Somehow waiting for gas for 3-4 hours is actually something that's new in America.

I totally agree, we'll be doing this at the Late Night PUGs as well. However, if you show up late you should go into the sub channel. Every week we need 2-3 subs so you always have a good chance to be playing. (Friday we needed 5 subs!)

Additionally, the spug vent channel should be locked or something, until an hour or so before the actual spug.  this way people can't claim a spot on friday or something.

This.

Id say bring it down to even 10 or 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. It doesn't take long to stop whatever you are doing and get to the Spug channel.

I personally dont mind large team sizes but if we are going to keep a player cap then this idea works.

I think 10-15 mins is too little - it's good to pop into the spug channel and then get back into game rather than sitting around for ages on Vent.
