Sandvich...and Medi-Kits Question

Can the Heavy throw down a sandvich for other players to use? and if he can, does this count as a Medi-Kit?

I'm having trouble getting the 1000 heal pts in a single life with the mediKit achievement and I thought this might help?

Of course the heavy can:
1. Stand in front of healee
2. Pull out sandwich
3. open console
4. type kill

e viola! Sandwich dropped!


But for this achievement you have to heal yourself for a total of 1000 points with med kits. I did that the easiest way possible (beside achievement farming maps)

1. dustbowl
2. run to 1st CP
3. climb on the balcony
4. jump down
5. repeat 3 and 4 until the next jump would kill you
6. grab big med kit in CP hut
7. repeat from 3

the sandwich heals everyone 50hp, except the scout, who gets 75 (i believe)

But no, the heavy cannot heal with his sandvich unless he dies and somebody picks it up.

I can see the heavy stuffing the sandvich in someone's mouth... "Sandvich is good for you! Eat now!"

Engi needs to be able to drop ammo

Or have a backback dispenser
