Hey!, new to the forum and have to say a great forum this is.

ok so i'm having trouble picking a good loadout for the scout, i have tried many including

Force a nature
Bonk! Atomic punch
Bat
this one helped me alot i play a lot of 2fort and the bridge is my main route to the other base, snipers fail to kill me using bonk drink and the bat gives me a double jump that i can use while the dri is in effect, the force a nature is mainly because i'm still thinking about to use the regular scattergun or not.
The Sandman i have gotten many more kills with this but since using it i found myself not getting the intel as with bat i found me taking to the bridge more often, but the sandman has saved me so many times with its useful stun.

so please could you tell me some of the best ways to use the unlocks and original's as i'm still wary about this   - i had the same problem with the Pyro and Heavy aswell i simpley cant choose between Fire axe or Axtinguisher  and Fists/KGB and Natasha/sasha   so yeah

Lovin' the forum - Wort

In my opinion the only new weapon I would use is the FAN, or forcegun as some would call it.  The Bonk is situational at best, with it's only real use is to distract sentries while your team kills them.  The amount of times it saves you is really minimal to how much the pistol aids you in combat.  I absolutely hate the sandman because of its effects, but since it has been nerfed it is no longer the unstoppable killing machine it once was.  I much prefer have the juggle break, and mobility increase that is the double jump than a stupid baseball bat that makes everyone not have fun.
The FAN in my opinion is good weapon for some fun, while it may be inferior to the scattergun, it does allow some fun triple jumps and ways of knocking around enemies.  The quick two shots allows you to down medics even faster if you can aim well enough too.  It's a good gun from pubs, and I assume that's what you do anyway.

So in my opinion the best setup is:

Scattergun/FAN
Pistol
Bat

FAN, pistol, bat
once the sandman get's unbanned (assumnig valve breaks down and fixes it more):
FAN, pistol, sandman

I prefer the fan over the scattergun for a few reasons:
- an extra jump, that is better that the double jump
- juggling people, then finishing them off with the pistol before they touch the ground
- pushing people off ledges / cap points
- faster shooting
- faster reloading
- it sounds bad ass
- mixed with the double jump, makes DMing / jumping around people even better

"I much prefer have the juggle break, and mobility increase that is the double jump than a stupid baseball bat that makes everyone not have fun."
I like griefing players.  Sandman is the best way to do so.

Scatter / Bonk / Bat here.

I used to think Bonk was pretty bad, but I've since changed my mind.

I don't use FaN so I don't have major ammo issues, and once you get the timing down Bonk has a ton of uses... although it's advertised as a way to charge through choke points, I think it's preferable to use it as so:

-Get through setup gates safely
-You  might say enemies can ignore you and focus on your teammates, but they really can't. They have the added pressure of mentally trying to calculate when your bonk might wear off, and will be nervous about the possibility of you unbonking and getting some shots in.
-Provides an escape. Maybe nerd scouts don't get in "screwed" situations as much, but I sometimes find myself sandwiched between an enemy heavy and a solly. It also helps to escape from enemy scouts until you can find a medkit.
-Close distance between you and snipers
-Body-block enemies
-And of course, distract sentries

If you're going to use the FAN it's mandatory to have the pistol.
If your aim is really good like PanFrie, you should use the FAN (pro scoots only)
If you like the sound/fun of using the FAN, use it.  it can be way more fun than the scattergun if you get great kills.
Don't use BONK unless it's an organized team; for taking sentries out and other oddities.
Sandman wherever it's not banned
