Site Update 11-28-07

Hi all, in this update we've fixed some bugs and added a couple new features that I hope you'll like.  Here's the rundown:

- Added Clan pages (see links in the left menu <== )
- Player stats are now accessible by clicking on individual usernames
   *NOTE: The name it looks up is defined in your User CP under 'In-Game Name' and currently defaults to your username here
- Fixed an issue with the poster names in search results
- Added a donate button for anyone that wants to contribute to the site/servers.  Read Why Donate? to see what you can get in return.
- Changed the homepage to be more 'news-centric'.  I'm really itching to put a tournament bracket up there - anybody else want us to hold a tournament??

There are a few other changes too, but I'm tired and can't remember, so I guess they'll have to be surprises

HUZZAH!

Well, I just checked out the updates and I have to say that for the most part I'm pretty impressed. I'm definitely digging the readily accessible player stats and the Clan pages (very nice stats collection). Also, the way you have your donations set up sounds pretty clever and it ensures some friendly competitive bidding for those reserved slots and badges.

However...I'm not diggin' the front page becoming more 'news-centric' since it looks way too busy now. Way too much going on there and it shouldn't really look that way for a main page. It's just too busy. Simplicity is key.

All in all, I welcome most of these changes and I look forward to future updates. This community is totally awesome.



Oh and one more thing...

I likes it, although I question why the community clan page links to a closed thread. *Beating a dead horse*

That's only temporarily closed until a new means of recruitment is decided upon. This is made clear in several recent posts & threads relating to the comm clan.

 O, and I'm all for a tourney. Now would you mean a tourney for clans, or for like players in the community to make teams and just go at it in a competitive setting? Cause I would have np with that. I think that would be a great way to bring the community even closer!
