Skins in VAC secured servers

When You have a skin downloaded say, to reskin a pyro, does that skin only show in a server that isnt VAC secured? and for secured servers does it just use the normal skin?

It all depends on what the server has sv_cheats on. A server can be VAC secured and have sv_cheats 1 on, and you would be able to use your skins. This can sometimes be used for cheating however,and the TF2F servers run sv_cheats 0 so you cannot use skins or sprays.

I think it comes down to sv pure 1 whether the server allows skins or materials.  Some do, some dont.

No, unless you're using it to detect cloaked spys or other cheats. Or the mods don't like you hehe.

If memory serves, yes, he does.

Pretty sure custom skins wont work on TF2F... sv_pure 1 disables them, iirc TF2F uses sv_pure 2.
