Sniper coordination

The other night on a 2fort map I was sniping from the battlements, and there was another guy there sniping too.  I said, 'can we split this up leftside/rightside?', and he (in a good sniper accent) said something like "I don't 'split' things..."

Seems like when there is more than one sniper, it would really help to overcome the limited field of view while scoped to only have to cover half the terrain.  Not to mention reduce mouse movement and thereby increase accuracy.

Or maybe 'im doin it rong' 

when you split it up, you rely on the other sniper. if i don't think you're a good sniper, why would i trust you to pop the enemy sniper thats trying to hit me? also,i'd have to keep a close eye on the top right corner to make sure you dont die.

Ok, so I definitely see your point on a public server.  You don't know me, you don't trust me.

What about in a team/clan environment with good voice comm?  Or maybe the situations where 2 snipers would be used in a competitive match (on any map) is so limited that the discussion is moot?

It does make sense to say: "you take the guy on the left i take the guy on the right" if there are 2 snipers down the way... Like say, if you are on the right, and there are 2 enemy snipers on either side, if you went for the one on the right (same side as you) you would be exposing yourself to the one on the left.  So you can coordinate.  However, as shadow said you have to keep moving, so this can only happen once or twice in a game.

One high one low is hard to snipe against...

Yeah let's see.  Two snipers on red vs. one sniper on blue.  More shots at counter sniping and keeping eachother free to headshot incomings.

yeah I can't imagine why two snipers would work together....
