Hi, after read that post "use your shovel!"... I began to use it, and its really great but this led me into a key configuration problem, and this was what I did.

Q = Rocket Launcher (I used Q for "last weapon")
W = Shotgun (This was alternate fire)
F = Shovel
A,S,D,RightClick = Movement
SpaceBar = Jump
C = Crouch
LeftShift = Alternate Fire (this is because sometimes, when its needed, I play as a Medic)

I would like to know which configuration are you guys using, maybe I can get a better one

Why is this so messed up?

Whats wrong with default?

The only extra bind I have is mouse4 switching to melee and attacking while it is held, then switching back when released.

I use ESDF to move

W is shovel.

Upwheel is rocket launcher, downwheel is shotgun, so I can switch weapons without taking my fingers away from the movement keys.

Right click is rocketjump (I'm a big fan of this script).

Default keys for me, with quick switch turned on so Mouse Wheel up or Mouse wheel down always gets me to the desired weapon (yay for having only 3 weapons)

Other than that I use the Mouse 3 for reload, makes it easy and quick for me to reload whenever needed. So I guess not completely default...

bind "MWHEELUP" "slot1"
bind "MOUSE3" "slot2"
bind "MWHEELDOWN" "slot3"
bind "MOUSE4" "slot5"
bind "MOUSE5" "slot4"

So it's basically wheel down for all melee weapons (since it's a *close* combat action, makes sense that you roll the wheel *closer* to ya, huh? ), middle mouse button for the basic weapon of each class and forward for the advanced weapon of each class. I've then setup the two thumb buttons of my Habu so that the front one builds stuff (as engineer ofc) and the back one demolishes it. It's damn intuitive and really grows on you as you use it - but I guess the second part can be said about any setup, even right mouse button to move forward - Spacemonkey's not the only one btw, I have a friend who uses such a setup

PS.: Oh yeah almost forgot, left shift for reload and Left Alt for voice comm. Huge life savers.

jeje, I totally forgot about the wheel, I'll put the rocket launcher and the shotgun there, thanks for that!... where can I find this rocket jump script?... I saw it one time but I forgot where, I didn't use it because I wanted to learn to make good rjump by myself.

sishgupta, is not messed up, I just feel confortable with that config.

Utred, yep I don't remember why I started to go forward with rightclick back in the quake 3 times.

Guys, is there a way to save/load a config? Sometimes I have fun playing with Spy but I need another config for that class.

if you go into /Steam/SteamAPPS/LOGINNAME/Team Fortress 2/tf/cfg/  there is a file there called config.cfg.  it can be opened with notepad if you need to, otherwise you can rename it to anything else (but it will load defaults back up if you dont copy it and rename only the copy).  when your ingame, you can change your configs by opening the console, then type "exec CONFIGNAME.cfg" and everything from that cfg file will get loaded

as for your controls... THOSE are messed up... like... more than mine...

and chro, your dont seem to be that great, cause you we have a ton of keys that make you move your finger from your movement keys and over to other ones, even if only for a second, but you still need to.  how the hell are you that good using those???

I still think the config that Punx and I use are the best, for the simple reason that we NEVER need to move our fingers, other than to quickswitch, or look at the scores.

n = back
m = jump
, = strafe left
. = strafe right
alt = crouch
; = quickswitch
mouse1 = forward
mouse2 = attack1
mouse4 = attack2
mouse5 = reload

mouse3 is normally vent for me
