The income tax could be worse, it could be up to 50% like it is in some EU countries.

The phrase "that is all." is not a complete sentence; and should not have a period.
Not to mention that if "that is all." was a sentence, the first t would need to be capitalized.

On topic: We wouldn't need to have taxes at all if people were more socially advanced.
Once people get over their abundant selfish tendencies, I'd be surprised if governments continued to exist.

If people would get over their own selfish tendencies, which won't happen. The point is, huge amounts of regulation in our lives means less possibilities to take advantage of to strengthen the economy and more money going in the wrong places.

haha. Thanks for all the love. I'm not a huge grammar nazi, in fact I find myself being lazy with grammar often. The only things that really bother me are the common ones: your/you're, our/are, etc. I just HAD to post, no hard feelings.

Well, I'm not complaining too much. In a year i'll be going to West Point (United States Military Academy, FYI), a fantastic education covered by taxpayers. I'll pay my taxes, and my taxes will pay me. Hooray!
