Anyone else here playing Twisted Pixel's excellent 'Spolsion Man game? I finally got around to checking out the demo and it was totally fun. I ended up buying the full version that same day. It's hilarious, and despite being really simple to learn (you only have one button to push, which makes you explode), it's surprisingly deep as a game. Some of the levels were pretty savage to get through - I find myself dying a lot.

Butterfly and I are interviewing the lead designer of the game this Thursday, if you have any questions for him.

Holy crap, how did you 2 land that gig?
I've heard of this game from a while back, Adam Sessler loves it. I really want it but it's only for the 360 Arcade, and if I get any console it's gonna be a PS3.

Gotta find SOMEONE with an XBox and play it, it seems so fun.

'Splosion Man is win; a great mix of speed, platforming, and puzzle-solving, all at a tempo that'd make a blue hedgehog look like a turtle.

Basically, we started our own nerd-oriented podcast this year, which we've been working on slowly growing. We've interviewed some bizarre people (i.e. pirate rapper Pirate Dan) so far. Somehow Butterfly got in touch with the developers of the game and arranged an interview. That's pretty much all there is to it. You just ask politely and hope for the best (I shamelessly tried to get Felicia Day to be on the show - she was very polite and even took my business card, which I assume will go in the "No" pile with the rest of them).

Haven't tried it, but I will when they fix my live.  Anyway, try it Showtime: Carnivale, it's an Indie game.  It's a platformer, where you control the platform.  It's really fun and innovative.

The game looks great however there are two problems for me.

1) It's on XBox. Not hating on the XBox here. It's just I own a PS3 instead.

2) I heard it gets repetitive quickly. I hate repetitiveness in games other than RPGs.

I'm through level 1-12 at this point, and it doesn't feel repetitive at all. Each level introduces 1 or 2 new tweaks that keep you on your toes. For example, I was a little surprised when one level suddenly became time-sensitive as I was forced to run through the level mistake-free, in order to escape the rising tide of water that was coming up from the bottom of the screen. Another level introduced a set of walls that smashed together, forcing you to wall jump up before they crushed you. The jump sequences seem to be increasingly more demanding as well.
