Last Night was super frustrating and I just need to vent.

I have been a way for a while, and yesterday day I got home from work and decide to play a little TF2. None of my friends were on like so i jumped into a "quick match". it's dust bowl stage 1. teams are 5 on 4.  so I choose red to even things out. I choose soldier and rush to the front. Team is kicking but, it's a rout. Blue can't even get out of their base. I look around and see that there are more than 5 of us. I pull up the team roster. its 8 on 2. next round it's even again and then suddenly over half my team commits suicide and switches sides by the time the game starts it's 8 on 2.

is this some kind of crazy stat building tactic? it doesn't make any sense because there is nothing fun about 8 guys repeatedly killing the same two poor players and then waiting for them to spawn.

So I quit that silly server and jump onto the only auto balanced game I can find which was fine until a Demo somehow got into the spawn point and just sat there racking up points by setting off stickies at every spawn.

The cheaters are really killing this game.

it really pisses me off because I don't have a lot of leisure time. I can only afford a few hours a week playing, I hate to have my time waisted jumping from server to server trying to find a decent game. I like playing with the TF2F guys, I get my ass kicked a lot, but at least it's fair and square.

i find these things just another obstacle to overcome during the game. but it is not fair and seriously dumb. the only thing you can do is get on a server with auto-balance one.

Yeah, I had a random vent thread like this over at GFQ's the other day, for some reason it seems to happen on the Euro servers a bit more (at least from my experience), but this is why auto balance is necessary. I'd much rather have a challenging game than be 8 vs. 2. I tend to leave non-AB servers right away, unless I'm playing with friends who have mics. Most of the time, we can even things up by just picking some people to switch teams.

Yeah, you can do a search for servers that have auto-balance.  These servers also don't have many glitchers since most glitchers like the freedom to choose the team they want to glitch (cheat) from.

Sometimes, though, auto-balance seems to hate me and I always get selected to be the one to go help the poor schlubs we are trashing.

I also like to play blue more on Gravel Pit than red since its more challenging and its hard to switch so easily in an auto-balanced game.

Yeah I stuck around for a while in an 8 to 2 game thinking If I could just get one player with a Mic and a clue we could make a stand. what pissed me off is that when i finally moved to an autoballanced server I ran into the Demo-in the-spawn. (oh great now I have farmer in the dell stuck in my head).

For me, dustbowl always seems to cause trouble.  I guess it's the mentality of people not wanting to lose? Once my team had under a minute to capture the last point when suddenly half my team either left or switched sides. It has only happened a couple of times to me but when it does..... major pissoff.

This is some of the reason as to why I started the clan Pride of Europe (PoE). When I start up TF2 there usually are at least 2-3 teammates who joins me in my games.
And we`re all good players. So doesn`t matter if the enemy goes 8 vs 4 on us.. We are allways capable of at least defending our base. (We play a lot of 2FORT)

But defending is really never an option for PoE.. We allways attack! Even when we play as the defending team at Dustbowl... Which some times make us loose at the end because we have noone back defending the last capturepoint.. And at the end of the day some Scout or Spy slips by us.  But that`s okay... You have to let the enemy win a few times, or else noone will play against you...

Anyway.. What I am saying is, invite some of the best players you know into a clan, and then the problem`s solved..

I personally never enjoyed TF2 more than I`m doing now as part of a skilled clan...

Pride of Europe = Fun every time I play!

True, but even with a few players you know, it can still get out of hand if you join random servers.

I always have auto balance on when I host, unless I'm playing with friends and I want to be with them the whole game.  What really bugs me is when on the Xbox you got a great game going and then BOOM, you get like 3 seconds of lag and everyone drops out.  I mean people can't even stand a little bit of lag and right after that little speed bumb everything is smooth sailing.
