Stickies For Newbs?

for the past few days ppl been calling me a sticky newb,noob,whore,gay,pussy...etc. i got decent with the stickies and i use it as my main weapon. im not gonna change my sticky habits, i just wanna noe wut everyone thinks about this situation. STICKIES FTW!!!!

Pissing people off is the point of playing online games.

It's because those idiots are so noob that they run into stickies, tell them to get some skills and move on with your life. Honestly people just complain about everything, first it was whaaaa the demoman are just a soldier with stickies! *nerf* now its just whaaa stickies... I wonder what they were complaining about valve? the grenade launcher or the sticky bomb one?

the funny thing was that some of the ppl that was complaining were demos themselves. they get really pissy when they get blown the F up.

Being an offensive demoman pisses off a lot of people, get used to it.

I just got my best ever score in a single life using 90% stickies =). Stickies are great, I hardly use my nades!

Hehe, kinda off topic (or side-topic) but yesterday I and some friends played on a server and a guy on the other team (called svartmossan, name and shame ftw) kept calling people fucking noobs, idiots, pussys etc. It was annoying, but it created a great team-feeling amongst our team, it made people focus on winning the game instead of individual score as people often tend to do on pubs, opened up a lot more communication in our team, and we eventually kicked their teams asses enough times for the guy to leave the server.

Does annoying opponents help teamplay?

As for sticky-bombs, they're the most powerful weapon in the game if used right, especially the crit ones that are detonable rockets!

Stickies are my primary weapon now, I only use my nade launcher when I've laid all my stickies and I'm defending, although it is nice to bounce a 'nade into someone's face in CQB. But yea, if you're pissing people off by blowing them up, you're doing it right.

Stickies are by far the best man to man combat weapon, because you can detonate them right beside your enemy. I use the nade launcher only for blind artillery shelling.... i.e. on the fourth cap on dustbowl to shell the sentry guns in the corner from behind the rock.

Yes, it seems that there's a few demo-haters out there. Was defending our sewers on 2Fort and I was mining the corners of the tunnels (switching to a different corner each time to stop them getting too smart ) and the same players kept on coming through and getting gibbed and I built up quite a bit of hate for it being labelled a "n00b camper", "demo-n00b" and other lollerific insults. I just kept mining away and eventually 3 of the people I was constantly killing left the server.

Also, I think as a demoman, when playing other classes you're more aware of where there could be sticky bombs planted and you're a bit more cautious before running blindly through a doorway. I know I am at least, and its helped as some demomen lay their mines all over the place but have an itchy trigger finger and by say shooting a rocket or a spout of flame through a doorway you suspect has been mined, often the demoman will instinctively detonate his mines, causing little to no damage so you can then run in and gib him.
