Sticky Bomb Charge-Distance Relationship

While I was screwing around on a empty server, I noticed something about the charge of a Demoman's sticky 'nade charging; It isn't required to have the meter full to make it go the max distance.

I discovered that there were roughly 3 tiers of range the stick launcher had.  With no or very little charge was a standard shot.  The next tier was more than next-to-none, but less than about half.  This got the sticky to travel about half way between the lowest and highest distances.  The longest distance resulted from slightly less than half of a full charge up.  This is caused it to get the same distance as fully charged sticky.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I thought I'd just share my findings with any die-hard demomen out there.

yea, i think the other half is just for you to be able to move around a bit at max distance before it shoots it off itself.

Wow, i didn't know that.  Thanks.  Now I don't have to sit there for hours charging it up as much.

hold down secondary fire so that it doesn't shoot itself.

I checked, it works. However be warned that it also detonates any laid stickies at the same time. Certainly ruins any well laid traps if you don't do it properly.
