Alright, since I'm going to be running the Sunday spugs I'm going to lay out some rules for how they're going to go, it will be a little different.

Picking Teams:

I'm doing away with first come first served. The channel will lock at 1:55 EST, the teams will be in multiples of 4, if we have more than 36 the teams will be in multiples of 6(unlikely), if we have more than an even multiple(likely), the people who aren't picked will sub, sorry, play in our pubs more and make yourself known if you don't get picked, subs will be first come first served.

Subs must be picked from the sub channel captains, none of this "oh I couldn't be bothered to see who was on vent so I subbed in my cevo-p friend for my fat kid pick." negative, subs are first come first served, get one from the sub channel. Steam me if you need a sub and can't get to the sub channel in vent for some reason.

I would prefer captains volunteer. If no one will volunteer I will draft, picking will commence at 1:55.  suck it up bitches.

Ready Up:

I'd like a hard 5 minute rule. I'll try to pick stock maps or well known customs, at most there will be 1 custom a week, probably the second map. This means your team readies up 5 minutes after everyone is in game and then we begin, if you want to ready up earlier, do so.

There is no killing in the first 5 minutes, 5 minutes starts after everyone is in the game, there is no killing while you wait for everyone to get in the game either. If both captains agree killing is ok, then do what you want. If the other team hasn't readied up after 5 minutes, feel free to slaughter them and taunt until they ready up. This isn't rocket science, pick your classes and ready your team up in 5 minutes. If someone's taking forever to get ready let me know and I'll try to see what the hold up is.

Come ready to play, If you have to restart, get a drink, etc. do it before 2. If you have continual problems I will recommend people not pick you.

Don't Be a Dick:

Once the game is under way don't taunt, don't be rude, if you're rolling the other team there's no need to be mean about it, I'm sure they don't need you taunting to figure out you're better.

Win Limits:
Play will be to 4 wins on linear CP or best after 30 minutes. In the event of a tie after 30 minutes, a tie breaker round will be played or if you can't be bothered one team can choose to forfeit if you'd prefer.
Play will be 30 minutes on CTF, most caps wins, in the event of tie you do golden cap or forfeit.
Play will be best 2 out of 3 on A/D maps using stopwatch. I'd prefer an ABBA format. If you aren't familiar with that I'm sure someone can explain it to you. If it's going to take you forever to switch sides then Don't stress out about it.

Class Limits:

6v6:
1 medic, engineer, demoman
2 of everything else

7v7:
2 of everything

8v8:
2 medic, engineer, demoman
3 of everything else

9v9:
Highlander or same as 8v8

10v10:
no.

Oh, and tell your friends to show up before 1:55, because a lot of people show up right at 2, if you want to captain show up by 1:40.

I like these rules. Though FYI, that's how we pick teams already, minus the 1:55 thing. Or at least, that's how its supposed to be. And I fully agree with the sub rule. I wonder who caused that to be made a rule.

yeah that's how it was when i first started, it was changed so that we locked the channel when we had exactly enough people to participate and then anyone else who came after that had to sub, because people who were showing up really early and wanted to play were being made subs because the numbers were odd and they didn't get picked, shrug, tough luck guys, volunteer to captain then you can't be the fat kid

Please...no.  This leads to tremendous imbalance.  All captains should be somewhat equal in skill, otherwise one team starts out with an advantage before the picking even starts.

yeah but there's no way to guarentee captain skill anyway, besides if we get 4 fat kid captains it's all the same

Fact is it's a rare day when 4 people volunteer without cajoling/begging

Well, we need to try to avoid having captains like last night with No0, Kankle King, Toazter, and whoever else.  Really, you can't compare two medics to a guy that can play most of the power classes pretty damn well.  Basically what I'm saying is we need to have four soly/demo captains or four medic/pyro/scout/sniper captains.

i'll do my best, but look the fact is 4 even captains pretty much never volunteer, if you even get 4 volunteers you can be sure the skill gap is large. if i don't get 4 volunteers i'll try to draft people of similar skill, but that's hard to predict also.
i was the 4th captain btw, no0's team was stacked because he got lob.killboy as a fat kid pick also

Please note all of these rules minus the time apply in the LNPUGs
