I'm in the medical field, so I feel I have a good understanding of how the pathology of a virus like this works. Swine flu is pretty much just a flu, but it is of a different strain (that means your body may not know how to fight it yet).
The vaccine is likely a dulled down version of swine flu; most vaccines take the virus and use a sledgehammer on its knees so that your immune cells can take turns pummeling its face. Once that happens, your immune system knows how to fisticuffs the strain and win. The problem is that there is a shortage, for whatever reason, of the vaccine. Swine flu has been shown to be more deadly to kids and pregnant women--that is one of the main things you'll hear in the news.

My opinion on the matter is that you probably don't need to worry about it. If you have children or are pregnant, then it may be a good idea to get vaccinated if you want to be extra safe, but keep in mind that the virus can (and some say is has) mutate into a different strain. If you really want to be healthy, it goes back to the thing that nobody wants to consider: diet and exercise.
Our society is set on the mindset of a pill for every ill, a potion for every emotion. Part of the reason why illnesses happen is because we do not take care of ourselves. Refined sugars, artificial sweeteners, processed grain servings, and lack of fruits and vegetables are some of the main problems. The really important one is eating fruits and vegetables as the main portion of your diet--those are what keeps you healthy. I am not saying be a vegetarian, but making sure you eat several servings of fruits and veggies is paramount to having good health.
The other facet is exercise. If you really want to stay healthy, then just go walk for an hour a day. It helps balance Calorie intake and energy expended, and the closer to even you come out the better your body will perform and the longer your cells will last. Our bodies are meant to travel 5-10 miles a day and be athletic. Our genome states that we should be athletic, but we are not and our body is not as strong as it should be because of this.
What it mainly comes down to is this is a flu just like any other, in my eyes. It may have more severe symptoms, but it is still a flu. Any time you get sick with anything, you need to ask yourself "why did I get sick?" A: Your immune system and biochemistry was not strong enough to kill the invader. So then you ask "why was it not strong enough?"
TLDR; If you don't want to get sick, eat your fruits and veggies like you are supposed to. =)
