You can also just wait for a deal on TF2, it goes on sale for $10 a few times a year.

I sent back Episodes 1&2. Yeah, I have Portal so I guess Ill sell it to someone for like 15 dollars.

Don't.  If Valve finds out in any way that you sold an "Extra Copy" (shown next to your legitimate copy under "Gifts" on the games tab) to someone else, your account will be disabled.

Give it to a relative for a birthday or something.

Unless you ordered a physical copy.  As long as that copy hasn't been activated on an account, feel free to resell.
