TF2 Has FPS Drop, Then Crashes...

i got tf2 to work on my comp which has really crappy specs... and even with m0re's config it still crashes very offen, so i wanted to try running tf2 on my mom's comp, but it crashes a weird way.

My mom comp passes all the minimum requirements(i checked at http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest), but whenever i join a server, it crashes, so i tried putting everything on low, even with -dxlevel81, but it still crashes. when i join a server, it says i have 66 fps but before i can press "continue" the fps suddenly drops to 2-3 fps, freezes and it crashes to the desktop.

i tried to find where to update the drivers(if i have to) but i dont know where to download them...

You have an S3 card? No way. Those are waaaay bargain basement. And one that looks like an integrated card!

Sorry to say, but your computer just might not agree with TF2, in the way that my uncles do not agree with sauerkraut. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I really think your machine just can't take it. Does it give an error popup or anything of the sort? Anything happen immediately before or after the crash?

^a couple minutes ago i just finished reinstalling tf2 and i was able to join a server with 2 people and was actually able to spawn this time, but it was very laggy and the walls were all colorful... im verifying the integrity of the game cache files right now and seeing if that might help.. i might try using spoo's fps script to see if that helps also...

If anyone can find an update for my driver, please post a link. thanks.

Ok, my mom said she would pay to get a new graphics card for her computer, which graphics card will let me play the tf2 with medium graphic quality? she said she would pay in the $50 dollar range.

This card looks pretty solid, and is 30 bucks after a mail in rebate
