Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Team Fortress 2

  • Fixed mat_queue_mode crash during level transitions
  • Fixed rapid weapon switching allowing Medics to prevent deployed UberCharges from draining
  • Improved prediction of Spy's speed changes when disguising
  • Fixed Stopwatch panel not updating if level designer ends round by hand instead of letting the gamerules end it
  • Optimized particle traces on multi-core machines
  • Fixed tracers sometimes firing with the wrong team color
  • Fixed rapid-fire weaponry critical hit checks getting out of synch between the server and client
  • Fixed map exploits in Gold Rush

Hey there,

Thanks for the update on the new TF2 patch.
Really appreciate of you posting on these forums,
hopefully Valve would release big patches like this for
the Playstation 3 version.

what does it mean by improved prediction of spy's speed changes?

I'm pretty sure that that refers to speed changes while disguising. In disguises, the spy has different speeds. I assume that they made his speed change more gradually while he is putting on a disguise.

That's right. I think it's actually that they made his speed more accurate, not gradual. Keep in mind that the spy still cannot travel as fast as the medic or scout, even if he is disguised as one of them, because they are faster than he is.

Im curious, if the medic change means that you can no longer switch to the uber saw mid uber and recharge the uber with a quick boning to a nearby foe.

I still think you can do that durban, its just there was a small bug where you could switch back and forth repeatedly and hold the uber longer.
