The most unlikely, wtf, stupidly coincidental sticky jump EVER

Okay, in a league match again a very good clan. Right at the start of the match, Dustbowl, Stage 1, First cap, Setup ending. I'm playing Demo. I have the middle gate stickied. Bottom stickies are blown away by their demoman. He lays down a sticky, runs over it, jumps, explodes, I hope to kill him so I explode my stickies at almost the exact same time. As I do this, he SHOOTS across the chasm, hits the ramp, slides up it, straight into our sniper who shits himself as the demo reacts quickly and shoots stickies and explodes them, killing him. I thought, WTF, he can sticky jump awesomely. He went from fully buffed to red health btw. But I watched it over on SourceTV, and it was the split-second explosion of my stickies that did it.

First Person View

There, it looks like he's discovered a freakingly awesome way of sticky jumping that gives no height whatsoever, but a stupid amount of speed.

Third Person View

There, you see him jump up, hit the door-frame, then my stickies propulse him forward at a stupid speed, I can't react fast enough with the camera.

I need to get an award for showing this clip, and contributing to the jump itself.

You lose the award for helping him kill your sniper. Should've put more than two stickies over that door

You can more or less do this manually on your own... you just have to essentially detonate your sticky late so it goes off behind you rather than under you.  I'm not quite sure what the ideal spot is but there is one angle that essentially shoots you forward and not up.  I've done it where I stuck a sticky on the little bridge between 2nd and mid CPs on well to jump the train and land on the roof and instead ended up slamming into the train because I missed my timing and height.

The use I suppose is that it probably would get you past most/all defenses that have to track you, since baring a lucky hit you'd pretty much be past them before they expected it, and not in the air and as such easy to track.

Of course... with the new compression blast, I'm sure a well timed team could reproduce this anywhere where the pyro can stand higher and puff down at you just as you jump, redirecting you forward instead.

He probably thought 'WTFhax' when a demoman was hurled at him at about 50mph.

And if you could sticky jump like that without extensive planning, it would be so useful.

I'm wondering how you were 'just recording' this match, or were you planning to record from the beginning? Because that is hellish luck.

Leagues always require players to record demos, in order to help deter cheaters.
