Just say what you think it will be, and be detailed and thorough in your description.
I think it will be King of the Hill.
It
would probably be a timed match, and the team who spends the most time
on it wins.
Also, if you spend three seconds up there uncontested, then other team
looses a second. If you spend 6 uncontested the other team looses
another 2 seconds, 9 seconds, loose another 3, 12 seconds, loose
another 4. It stops at 15 seconds, when they loose 5 seconds. Then the
other team loose 5 seconds every 3 seconds you are up there uncontested. This would prevent one team
from giving up if the other team was on the point for more than half
the game, and to prevent stalemates. A team cannot have negative time.
Also, to have control of a hill, every member of the opposing team must
be off. When there are no more members of the opposing team on the
hill, they other team instantly gets control. If even one member of the other team gets onto the hill, for no matter how long, the time loss process starts all over.
As always, an uber cannot capture the hill, but they can block.
It does not matter how many people of one team are on the hill.
Also, there are 3 hills. One in the middle, one at the blu spawn, on at
the red spawn. Default time per hill is 7:30, making the game, at the
least, 15 minutes long. Here is how it works (though it should be
obvious):
The first hill you must go to is the middle hill. The other two are
locked. That lasts for 7:30. Say RED wins that hill. That hill becomes
locked, and the one at the BLU spawn is unlocked. An additional 7:30 is
added to the clock. If RED captures that hill they win. If BLU wins
that hill, then the fight is pushed back to the middle hill. This has
the potential to go on for a while, just as granary and badlands type
maps do.
In case both teams have the same amount of time on the clock at the
end, an additional 30 seconds is added. If that doesn't work, then it
goes to sudden death, then stalemate.
The two hills closer to the spawns are much harder to cap, so the team who is winning gets a shorter respawn time, and the loosing team gets a longer respawn time. This should balance it out so both troops are getting to the point at relatively the same time. (Not counting for teleporters)
At the bottom of the screen is a bar that is half full of red, half full of blu. Also, there are two clocks below that bar. At the beginning of the match, both clocks are at 00:00. (They are digital) The reason for having both is for quick reference and decision making. You can look at the bar for a split second and know who is leading. You can look at the clocks for a bit longer and decide whether you want to try and take the hill, fall back and beef up the defenses at your spawn, or move ahead to the enemies spawn hill. (The clock will most likely be used more in competitive play.)
All maps using this gamemode must be symmetrical, such as granary and badlands.

I think it would be nice to have a True Team Deathmatch gameplay. No payloads, controlpoints, or flags...just killing. Maybe 10 minute rounds on almost any map where whichever team has the most kills at the end of 10 minutes wins.

I agree with dragonsbane.
That would be really fun: good thinking

Not really IMO. It would leave some classes left out, such as spies, and scouts, who (generally) don't get as many kills as say, a heavy or soldier. It has a huge potential for griefing because the only goal is to kill. Spawn camping and just plain camping would be much more common because there is no other goal. There would be tons of pyros everywhere because the are a beginner class, and beginners would be most attracted to this because it is the most simple. And we ALL hate pyros. (At least the noob pyros...) It would not be as hectic as other gametypes because in other gametypes everyone is forced to a specific location. In this one, people would be strewn about the map lying in wait for prey, or going out to find it. It is also unfair to engineers. They place sentries where people are forced to go. In this mode, people would eventually learn where the engineers are hiding, and just avoid them. There is barely any teamwork in the mode, and the game is called Team Fortress 2 for a reason. Other gametypes prevent that because they force you to go somewhere and to cooperate with people. (And pairing up with a random medic does not count as teamwork)
I really doubt that valve would do that. Remember, say what you think it will be, not what will be the most fun. (Which is King of the Hill IMO)

that would be fun too but I think the new game will be last man standing similar to king of the hill except it doesn't have the hill. lol.
|
I think a game mode that is like Sudden Death each round could be fun.

So no respawn? That would be short with TF2 gameplay. Also, people could just wait for everyone else to die while sitting in their spawn. I don't think it will be that... if that is what you mean...
|
yeah i know but just the thought of it sounds cool right?
|
Quote: That actually sounds really good. (And camping is okay because it is defensive camping in this mode) That would be fun. Like the longer you stay in your factory the more stuff you make, and the more people the more you make. That actually sounds pretty cool!
