Im thinking about getting these headphones. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826158054

My original choice was the JVC HA-RX900's, but apparently they just stopped making them. and my order got cancelled. I need to order from newegg to take advantage of a 15 rebate i got since they screwed up my order and i dont wanna pay more then $70 after the rebate so.

Having to go to Newegg for audio and being limited to that price range isn't going to work out so well.

If you're worried about it go to a proper shop where you can audition them first.

Of course if it's just for game playing it doesn't really matter, but if you want to listen to music you could get something decent like Grados for that money.

If you are going to pay that much, then go wireless.  I am using THIS and have never had issues with them.

IMO I think Creative makes wonderful affordable headsets/headphones.

You can't beat a nice pair of Seinheisers though.

http://www.sennheiserusa.com/professional_headphones-headsets_headphones_004974

I got those as a gift a while ago, back then they were 100 on sale but you might be able to find them in your price range now. I've used them for about 5 years and working with audio editing and live audio all the time, I've never heard anything better without going into the $250+ range.

They also have a headset version.

Hope that helps.

EDIT: Here they are on Newegg, they are still going for $99 but it's worth the price jump. I guess they have been $99 ever since I got them 5 years ago and they are still in demand so that should say something.

There's a big difference between work and sound.

Pretty much.

I used to think the same thing, that there can't possibly be any difference in sound quality of earbuds or headphones.  They're all just a magnet, a driver and a paper/cardboard cone creating vibrations right?

Then a friend of mine bought a set of BOSE In Ear Stereo Headphones, now mind you, they're not the best in terms of sound quality by a long shot, but still.  I tried them and the difference in quality was astounding.
