Uploading Demos to Youtube

Hello, i need some help about uploading demos of tf2 and other source games to youtube, it wont accept the .dem files that they are saved in. And im not using FRAPS for 2 reasons, 1, it slows down stuff dramatically, and 2, i ain't buyin itto save a more than 30 seconds long video. So is there a prgram to help convert a .dem file to like an avi file? thanks for your help.

What I like to do is go through each demo and do 'startmovie moviename' and then 'playdemo demoname' and then take that file and put it through VirtualDub.

.dem files aren't a video format, it's a replay of ingame objects action's through time. You still need to replay the demo inside the TF2 client and record it with a tool such as Fraps in order to get the content into something you can upload to youtube.
