Useful settings for tr_rocket_shooting2

Hey guys, I was messing around with SourceMod on a created server the other day and I found some of the locked console commands in TF2 that it allows you to change. I found 2 commands in particular that seemed extremely useful for tr_rocket_shooting.

tf_damage_range
tf_damageforcescale_other

The Damage Range is a setting that, when changed to 0, makes a weapon do a set amount of damage, obviously, meaning no damage ranges. I believe that a direct rocket will do 90 damage exactly every time. (Reason this command isn't used is that it removes long range damage decreasing, meaning a long range rocket still does 90). So by setting that to 0, you can double-airshot demos and pyros every time, rather than the occasional but unlikely time as before. It is default 0.5

Damage Force Scale is a setting that changes the force that someone is launched after a particular event. Obviously, rockets and stickies. It is default 6, but I found that by doubling it to 12, it would send the enemies an incredibly high distance which I'm getting quite good at hitting. Double airshotting is extremely difficult, but insanely satisfying to do. It is quite reminiscent of some of the shots in the Fragga frag videos, with the high airshots.

So if you can get SourceMod on a created server, which I managed I think by just extracting the SourceMod files into every folder I could think that could make it work, as I had no idea otherwise, then you can use these commands, but you must use sm_cvar preceding it. As an example:

sm_cvar tf_damage_range 0; sm_cvar tf_damageforcescale_other 12

This would change them both to what I recommend and it's good for people like me who have played the map to death and want a change to it. I took Frozen's map, decompiled it, edited it in Hammer a little bit so that the roof was much higher, as i saw that sometimes the bots would hit the roof, so some of you might wanna try that. Maybe Frozen could make that change and re-release it if he sees fit?

It is. Those settings can't be changed in the console, as they're 'locked', they are unchangeable with mere TF2. You can change things like the length of time a spy can cloak for too and all stuff like that, which is what server mods do. You need SourceMod for this to work. sm_cvar kinda takes the locked command and changes it anyway.

You're right - I just tried doing this on my own server, and found out that those settings do not exist.

Another fun setting to make it a bit more challenging is "bot_flipout 3". It will cause the bots to run in circles while jumping, so you have to shoot them out of the air while they are air-strafing.

There is only 1 bot in my server. Can i use commands to make more bots that jump as well (on FPS Bannana it says 16). Alos, for tr_Airshot_V0 i have the same thing, only 1 bot.

Any help would be great. THanks

edit: Arsenal, download the new version it spawns 16 bots auto and they jump up n down for better airshot practice.

that's weird... i think you can just type "bot" into the console repeatedly to connect more
