I know that folks use vent while playing the PUGS.  I've never been a fan of vent.  What are the advantages or disadvantages of Vent vs the in game voice system?

You can talk while dead.

You can also adjust volumes and use a compressor to equalize the sound of everyone in the vent channel.

Vent is much greater than using the in-game speak.

Not to mention, vent allows us to organize the pugs, before we know where the players are going to be playing. You can also speak during map changes, and if you time out from the game. Just adds to the communication possibilties.

There is really only one disadvantage to Vent...and that is if people start being loud and chatty in vent while your playing and you don't like that . Sometimes when that happens I just click the mute button on Vent.

Biggest disadvantage for me is that if I am on vent, I can no longer hear anyone talking in game. Just the sound effects are loud enough to make it through. Well, I guess if you scream in in game chat it would work...

I normally turn down my in-game, but yea if the vent channel is loud it makes it hard to hear in-game

you can turn down the in-game so that you can hear vent..either that or increase the inbound in vent so its balanced.

Usually, I turn down my in-game...the people in vent are usually MUCH more entertaining.

Vent's great for matches and organized playing, and hell just shooting the breeze/talking to the other team, or while dead in our pubs.

If only I could stop using in-game chat in matches, I blame Chad.

Seriously, I can only tell you I can't hear you so many times.
