When the Heavy stops firing his Chaingun, he isn't able to switch to other weapons until the barrel stops spinning. What I would like to see is that wait-time reduced or eliminated, so the Heavy can switch weapons immediately after firing.

This will allow him to respond to situations that call for his shotgun more quickly, and actually effectively. He can retaliate against classes that bumrush him after he stops firing, or chase down enemies he's softened up with the Chaingun.

This is a subtle buff, but IMO would help out immensely when you have to make split-second decisions that will decide whether you live or die.

Though I don't think any of use can call the shots of what gets done in TF2 (other than Chro, according to him) I do agree that this should be done

You could have him still get the speed reduction penalty for spinning down but let him switch weapons regardless.  Anything would help, heavy is the most under powered class at this point of the game.

I'd rather see heavy have his movement speed increased to that of a soldier or demo but be immobile when shooting.  Let him pick up and go quicker but once he starts shooting its a full out commitment.  Keep the ~1.5 second spin up/down time.  His weakness is suppose to be his speed but right now its crippling, if you can't adapt to a situation then you're as good as dead.

If the Heavies speed was increased slightly, but couldn't move why'll he was reved, I would consider that a huge nerf

Not really.  Being able to get in range to do decent damage is the key, right now he just can't do that.

Even now, when the heavy is reved, he's close to almost 0 speed anyways. The heavy is meant to be a damaging class not killing class, it should always be the demos/sollies/ scouts to finish up the kill. And I agree that the heavy is the weakest class right now, when a heavy is ubered, everyone just runs away from him. The solly is slow but he can rj to get in range while the heavy has to walk the extra distance and wait for the slow rev. By the time he got the revving going on, every enemy has fled, nothing accomplished but wasted an uber.

Agreed, Jin.  I remember at the beginning of TF2 where everybody thought the Medic + Heavy Uber Combo could turn games around
Good post jin, props on the spelling.

Heavy's Movement, Spin-Up, and Spun-up Movement all need to be faster.
Around 15% faster.

yes, heavy is underpowered in some ways, but in unorganized 12v12 pub nonsense a Heavy / Medic combo can still rape.
I agree that with relatively slight buffs the heavy could be a contender in small comp-level play, but I think those buffs would make him much much more brutal in pub play.

It's the reverse of the issue with the scout. Most comp players wouldn't mind if the scout was nerfed a little, but any reduction in his power would make him even WORSE for the average pub player.

With all that being said. the quick switch to a shotgun wouldn't make him THAT much better in Pubtard play, and would I think help him a good bit in more organized play.

he's essentially the WAY slowest class right now, cause soldier's and demos move across open spaces at rocket / sticky jump speed. That speed itself is a liability.

I'd like to see what a speed buff and a quicker cooldown on the rev would do to the heavy.

Let him switch weapons but keep the slowdown until it normally lets you switch weapons. (What Chro said.) Maybe also give him a faster running speed with shotgun out? (That of a solder or even slightly faster?) So he can move pretty fast, but to start mowing down enemies you need to wait a few seconds. Smart players will move around a lot faster. Dumb players will fuck it up and die LIKE THEY SHOULD*

*I am shit at heavy, this also applies to me.
