What are some good servers to improve my play?

I have become interested in playing as soldier. I'm getting plenty of practice in but I want to know if there are any servers that specifically are made for solly training. I already have the duelmod with ammomod in my favorites, I just wanted to know if there were any others out there.

bball and duel_duel2 servers are decent practice with small populations

I don't like bball because you only fight soldiers. I want practice against all classes, but I'll look into duel_duel2.

Eh, difficult to say. There's tr_airshot by Gman that is good for midair shot training, and again bball which is actually pretty good even if it's soldier vs soldier, and I'd say the 5CP maps. They're all very open and balanced, and if you can play a good soldier on them, it'll be much easier to play soldier on smaller, cramped maps where people have less room to move around your rockets.

If you're looking to really improve your aim in things besides duels and bball, hop in on small (6, 7, 8 player team) games with good scouts.  It'll drive you insane for weeks trying to kill them because they're all nimbly-bimbly.  I've only been doing it for a few days (along with bball) but already I've seen my aim has gotten a LOT better than it used to be (though it's still pretty awful).  Someday I'll be able to take on scouts on my own, and I'll be the happiest person ever

Try not to play too many 32 person pub matches; most of the time it gets you into really bad habits.

Okay, games with good scouts, that would be what, every TF2F server. (Other than the NOMNOM, and the 24/7 Dustbowl server.)

I think arena would be good because I would be much more careful and because there are less people I won't panic as much. Plus, when I die I have more time to think about what I did wrong. Am I right or am I terribly wrong?

Just play regular servers. Playing stuff like bball and duel_duel2 makes you good at bball and duel_duel2. Playing regular maps makes you good at regular maps. Sure, some skills like aiming could move over, but you miss out on learning tactical decisions and maneuvering.

Well, I know all the valve maps (except for hydro because no server has it ) pretty well. The reason I want to practice on other servers because there are some really good players that are on these servers, such as GMan. (Even though I managed to kill GMan as soldier when he was a spy that one time. Yeah, that was great.)

I know that it is a good thing to practice against people who are better than you, but it gets frustrating.

Servers 1,2,4 with no crits are good ;D

Step 4: Duel
Step 5: Learn to RJ
Step 5.5: Find someone of equal footing as you at solly, and duel him a lot. I did this with TLR, private server stats showed that we had killed each other ~3000 times.

Chaos, its true that its different but all these other servers serve the purpose of improving your dming/rjing. very essential for a solly.
