What's a good ping to play at?

Join Date: Dec 09, 2007 Post Count: 40   daveo123 81047 Specialty: Pyro Steam ID: Fraggamuffin   I usually set my filter to <50, but that usually only leaves me with 2 or 3 servers that have a good amount of people playing. If I bump it up to <100, will I notice a big difference?

Join Date: Oct 16, 2007 Post Count: 82   shadewell 78472   Keep in mind, the ping on the server list is usually significantly higher then what it would be if you join the game, at least in most of my cases. I have no problem with sub-100 ms pings, but if I were sniping I would want less than 50.

Join Date: Oct 27, 2007 Post Count: 1396   Regulator 79379 Clan: {TF2F}   I can concur with shadewell's findings. I too have found that the server list bumps up my ping by 20 or more each time. I'm usually lower once I join the actual server.
