What sensitivity do you play on and why?

I figured this was extremely relevant to sniper.

I have been playing a good amount of sniper (got 20 hours under my belt already somehow) and people say I'm actually pretty good. I'm can go toe to toe with almost any sniper I meet, getting to the point where I am noticing that the netcode in this game really sucks (which I didn't really pay attention to the first 17 hours.) I figure the next step is learning what sensitivity to play on.

Naturally, I figure the highest sensitivity one can play on and not make mistakes would be the best.

Any different theories? I would love to hear from our more distinguished snipers.

My sensitivity is 20. I play everything but sniper (and I can sniper with average skill I think), so I like to be able to turn around really fast. It's bitchin'.

Also, my sens is maxed in my mouse control panel thing.

i keep my sensitivity to around 2.2 - 2.3

but i have a mouse where i can dial it down a notch on the fly with a button, so i use whatever THAT is to snipe.

I think I have it on 3 with 1600 DPI on my mouse. Its just a comfortable sensitivity to me, I think any sensitivity is fine as long as it is high enough that an enemy can't circle strafe you. I just put my mouse on 5 settings of 1500-2000 until I found one that I liked and stuck with it.

i have my sensitivity on 4, even though sniper is my secondary. It just suits my playstyle, and i would never change it.....

I usually keep mine around 2 these days. It used to be higher, but I've been playing a lot more Sniper recently, and I find that lowering it to 2 did help me some in my scoped aim, where aim is most key, but doesn't degrade my other classes' play. As soon as I notice a distinct instance where the sensitivity hinders me, I'll turn it back up until I find that optimal level.

Cause my mouse sucks ass, I have my sensitivity turned up to 20. I find I'm getting better at aiming with it after assloads of practice, but with Sniper, I get lucky sometimes and pick off 2-3 heads in a row, with swipe sniping. Most of the times, my aim drifts off JUST a little bit to the left or right, so I miss completely, and I'm like, 'WTF?'. But on the other hand, I find 20 is good with a fast class like the Scout, where you run past everyone really damn fast, and need to turn round really fast. It also helps as Engie, where you hit your Sentry/Dispenser, turn round, turn back and hit again, to ward off Spies. Everything else is eh, as they don't require expert reflexes.

In any case, in any shooter, i like a high sensitivity, as I like to check my surroundings often.

A low sensitivity is best for sniper, it helps with accuracy.

A high sensitivity is best with ... well just about everything else.

What to do, then?

zoom_sensitivity_ratio "0.XX" (default is 0.75)

I have my sensitivity at 10.5, then dial it down by .5 for sniping. Find the right (low) sensitivity for you when you're sniping, the right (high) sensitivity for you when you're using another weapon, divide low by high, put that fraction into the ratio.
