Hey guys,

So I've been meaning to pick up one of the "core" TF2 classes, and after debating a bit I decided to try out scout. Now I have looked around on the internet for some scout vids, but there are no vids that actually pinpoint which skills a beginning scout should try and work on.

So what I am asking is, what are the things that a beginning scout should try to work on? I've been trying to make accurate shots, be a team player, etc. but I find myself dying a lot.

Vids/demos would be very much appreciated, or at the very least some general tips to try and improve on.

Like I said before, looking at vids online have some good points but nothing I can try to work on.

Thanks for your help,

-Slin

Running from a battle does not mean it is lost.

Heavies can be jumped on for fun.

Taunt while standing on the cart, always.

Don't use any weapon but the bat on spies.

Suicide rushes = winning the game.

Those are some stuff I'm either attempting to live by, or I'm living by.
Or Iwould be, if my computer wasn't a piece of crap :C

@ Dictionary Ninja

I get where you're going with some of those points, but the bat on spies thing....I never get killed by scout with bat more than scattergun.

@ Vince

Hey yeah everyone's seen daedalus' vids, but are there any other ones?

To be honest daedalus covers pretty much everything
not much else you can really learn without really developing it yourself

I'll just hi-jack this thread in the same manner as I'm working at trying to become a better scout, I know all the basics, just practice makes perfect right now, I need to keep my aim steady at those speeds, Im looking for a demo or vid of more professional scout play, to see how they take on certain situations like medic hunting, etc etc, either a link, or a general "so and so for clan so and so is an amazing scout" would be appreciated

Man, that teamchuckles! guy on the {TF2F} clan is AMAZING AT SCOUT

anyway... basically just practice. a bunch. lol. It helps develop your twitch, which is very important as scout. Learn to use and abuse the double jump, either getting somewhere or dodging fire. Be unpredictable. Don't be afraid to run away and get health. Or just run in general. You're like a mosquito... not a huge power threat but very annoying. You take out a medic, and there are two demos there.... don't charge. Get out. You did your job. When you aren't killing medics and assisting, cap those points. You're made to cap points. Back cap to get pressure off your team. Get on the point to speed up cap so the power classes can move up.
Essentially, just do what the scout is made to do and do it well

yep, Penguin pretty much covered it, the scout is the class which I like to call the "Asshole" Class. He is made for waiting for the right opportunity then SERIOUSLY annoying/screwing  them. He's basically a class MADE for griefing. Do everything you can to piss the enemy off and you are doing your job.
