Why all the hate on Oblivion?

The game wasn't all that bad, why is comparing Fallout 3 to it some kind of bad thing?

Besides, what other game would be capapble of this?

Oblivion had far too many immersion-breaking bugs for me to enjoy it over a long period of time. That and I thought it was just plain boring. If it's any consolation, I like fallout3 a lot more, even though some of those same bugs still exist.

I played oblivion for like four or five months. It was amazing. Like all single player games, it lost its luster over time, but it was fun as hell while it lasted.

I really enjoyed Oblivion. I agree that it did get stale after a while, but as stated that goes for most single player games. What I really liked about Oblivion was the selection of mods it had. It was fun getting some insanely OP weapons and going to town .

I've compared it to oblivian because as badass as I think the 2 games are I just don't enjoy the open world console RPG, I was hoping for more FPS aspects in FO3.

They are good games, if you are into that genre. I'm not.

No hate here. I played Oblivion to the ground.

I never liked Oblivion. I never figured out how to use the inventory screen, for one. I also didn't like how you had to level up each skill individually, as I found out quickly after I tried killing anything harder than some random bandit. And after the original thrill of, "Wow, I can go anywhere!" wore off, all the walking and endless forests got boring quickly. I'm very glad, however, that Fallout 3 fixed all those things.

My only concern was that the game got almost to repetitive. All the caves started to look the same and most quests involved running though cave X to find object Z or kill person Delta. However, I did have a lot of fun, but it began to wear off when I owned all the guilds and completed the main quest.

I hated Oblivion because after a short while it required an extreme amount of grinding. And the game was also broken; While playing the main quest, there was a part in which the game didn't tell me where I needed to go next, despite hours of trying to figure it out myself.

i LOVED Oblivion
and as soon as i can get my hands on it, i'll LOVE Fallout 3

i think alot of people hate on ES4 because there were high expectations, and maybe it just didn't meet some players' expectations..

it sure as hell met mine..

there's something about massive-world-sandbox games that just makes me feel good.
