This has really started to annoy lately, particularly when defending on the second stage of Dustbowl. At least one (or a few) Engineers will put their teleporter entrances right in the general walking path right outside the door, so that everyone who leaves the spawn is stopped by them and must frantically jump over them to get back into the action. Whats the deal? Doe this bug anyone else?

Or this

You don't have to jump over the teleporters frantically, you can walk right over them, good engies will put buildings on flat ground and not slants, unless needed.  And jump over them to get to the action?  80% of the time the exit teleporter leads right into the action faster.  Slower classes shouldn't have to walk that much to get right into battle, hence teleporters, if they put the entrances anywhere else it would in most cases defeat the purpose of having a teleporter in the first place.

It depends on the verticak angle you approach the tele. if it is flat ground you can walk right over them... if it is steep in front of it you will have to jump. the teleporter itself has a clipping height of a stair... actually i sometimes use teles to block the end of stairways from enemies. even though i prefer dispensers for that

The point of the teleporter is to get the slow troops to the front as quickly as possible.

They need to be built close to the spawn base to minimise search and use time.

Quicker to go around than jump over.

@kilkrazy - Yes, we all know that. That is not the point here. The point is that they obstruct players who doesnt want to use them.

the Engies build them there to make sure any idiot can see them. But they dont realise that when you cant use it (because it has a long recharge-time or it leads you to the wrong place) you just want to get past it as fast as possible. Then theire just a pain in the ass...

I put the entrance infront of the doors so people can find it and get into battle faster.  But the people who put them on angles are annoying.
