Windows 7 RC1 (Official Release)

For all those interested in Windows 7, Microsoft dropped RC1 on the public today.  Grab it while they're hot!  Or wait... doesn't matter, it will be available through June.  The license is good until June 1 2010, so you have a full year to use this OS.  I, myself, will be using this as my main OS until I buy the full Windows 7 retail.

Really wanna try it out but I don't want to really delete any of my files or folders. Anyone have any suggestions for backup programs ?

I'll probably be installing this on a laptop today at work.  Think I'm gonna get my spare machine up and running on x64 once I figure out which stick of memory is bad.  That way I can have a good test without having to blow away my current system

I'm thinking about being an lazy enduser and upgrade over vista. Nothing really important to back up that isn't in the cloud.

Been running this for over a week now. A real solid build.
I get stuttering issues in TF2 with win7. Only noticeable because my game in xp is perfectly smooth

Downloading right now... Looks pretty good, I was impressed with the beta. I'll be tinkering with it this summer.

Started installing it on a secondary HDD via RDP. I'll be looking forward to it when it gets finished in an hour or so. Protip question tho, Does RDP work on W7 the same way as XP and Vista. I wouldn't imagine they change that too much and is Remote Access turned on by default in W7? If not, I guess I can wait until later to finish the install at home.

How big is the download?

about 2.6 gb?
