I few embarrassed to be asking this, but has anyone had success getting TF2 to play with a game pad on PC?  I have a friend with severe consoleitis who will sometimes play hot seat with me on my PC and wants to use my game pad.  I've tried enabeling the support in the options menu but can't get the game to respond to the game pad.  Any ideas?

In console(~) type:            [Console is enabled through the Advanced button found on the Keyboard tab, then pressing the ~ key]

to undo, type:

Note:
Enabling the gamepad option, located on the Mouse options tab, may be required.

I discovered something interesting while I tested the controller feature.
Stick sensitivity allowed for varying walk speeds, from crawl/turtle to full. The game doesn't allow for this through use of the keyboard. In Counter-Strike there is the walk button which slows you down from your usual run speed, but this key is absent [at least at first glance] in Team Fortress 2.

While I know that this isn't exactly a sought after feature since TF2 is so fast paced I thought it was interesting enough to share.

I know that the TF2 Server install does have several 360 cfgs.  I haven't seen it in the Client Install though.

I would also suggest this program called Pinnacle Game Profiler. its 30 days free but lets you have cfgs for multiple games...even ones not created to work with the xbox360 controller

I use it occasionally for scout play on my computer. I created a profile in the user's area of that site if you wanna take it for a spin.

Thank you Nofear2004 for the suggestion, I have used Pinnacle myself and currently use Joy2Key for certain applications.
However, Team Fortress 2 supports gamepads, so it is unnecessary, yet an option nonetheless.
