My god, the OP almost made my heart leap.

I turn on TF2 in expectance of an update, and nothing.

I am feeling a wide variety of emotions, among them being seething hate, envisions of dismemberment, unbridled fury, and disappointment so vast it could fill the depths of the abyss.

Gentlemen, this thread is a trap.

Since the most recent major update where they removed the zero damage falloff for flamers and removed the 50 HP buff from BB, there has been no change to the class.

I would personally love to see the damage reverted to the way it was originally.

i disagree. the old pyro sucked, which is why they fixed it. do i think theyre OP? no, i think they can be as powerful as soldiers or demos now making them an important class. if the servers had a like 2 pyro limit it would be cool though

Last three updates were August 26, October 21 and October 22. None of these tweaked the pyro. Maybe Mibbok hasn't played in a while?

Pre-update Flamethrower: ~150 DPS point blank, 70 DPS longest reach (pretty sure)
Current Flamethrower: ~150 DPS point blank, 90 DPS longest reach

It's not a huge change, honestly; the falloff has been changed from nearly 60% to only about 40% from source to tip. I think if anything were to convince people if the Pyro could be considered OP it would be the class rush, and the infamous "bumrushing" players. In reality, all this translates into is a cheap way for a newbie to rack up easy points; it's just like a Demoman player who gets all of his points through sticky-camping or a Sniper that watches a single spot and picks off players that don't learn to stay away. Now I'm not saying that the Pyro has as deep of a skill cieling as these other classes, but I think that with the mix of players that choose to bumrush everyone, spamming fire the whole time is what is giving the class such a negative outlook.

However, I don't think a class limit is the answer to anything; even if there are less Pyros, people will still complain about the few that still play it and succeed in some facet. Everyone just needs to accept the fact that Pyros will be a more popular choice now, they have their uses that benefit the team, and will no longer be restricted to the most dedicated people willing to put up with the frustration that once plagued the class' finest players. As wreak said, Pryos can be as powerful as Solly's and Demo's, but realize the weakness of them...THEY ARE THE MOST LIMITED CLASS WHEN IT COMES TO RANGE, know this and use it to your advantage, if you get caught in the flames via an ambush or even a noob player that bumrushed you and you somehow couldn't exploit that and kill him quickly then you have no one to blame but yourself.
