ambassador is crap?

I don't have it yet.  Stupid new system.  LFG goldrush ambassador runs PST.


So the ambassador does less damage,  and shoots slower than the magnum.  But the trade off is that it is more accurate.  If your first shot is a head shot, it crits.

So it's total crap?


Fellow spies, give me some feedback thus far.

I have the Ambassador, and I like it.  I think that every headshot is a crit, only its harder because you accuracy goes out the window with the first shot, and slowly returns.  However, I don't use it much, because I'm too busy backstabbing and running away cloaked.  However, it is satisfying to take someone out with it.

It is definitely satisfying to headshot snipe somebody with the weapon.
 
That said, it sucks.
Chro and I did some damage testing. 

Really Long Range:  Ambassador-18  Revolver-20      Headshot Mini-Crit-46
Point Blank:  Ambassador-55  Revolver-60       Headshot Mini-Crit-46
However, it does -15% damage overall; so the extremes don't really show this.  I'm sure in the middle of the damage range this -15% is valid. 

So, the ambassador does slightly less damage.  But, it has 20% slower rate of fire.  For me, the accuracy doesn't affect much.  Revolver is easy to hit people with anyways.  So the big thing about the ambassador is that its mini crits (and all mini crits from what I hear) don't have damage fall off.  So you can snipe somebody from long range and still do 46 damage.  I'd rather have the more damage + faster rate of fire = more DPS. 

But ambassador looks/sounds really cool.  More like amBADASSADOR.

No.  They are correct.

It's retarded. At point blank it takes 3 headshots to kill Sniper. It takes 4 body shots to kill Pyro, and it takes 4 headshots to kill Pyro with Ambassador...

Making the Ambassador completely worthless.

This could be fixed easily by having headshots do more damage and giving it some sort of additional ability (I.E. Slowdown like Natasha, or push back like FAN).

The numbers are right, crit is only to remove fall-off damage.  We tested it multiple times, thats just how it is.
